Al Bundy

We've got our own little Al Bundy in the family.  I apologize if anyone is offended by the picture, but Savannah refuses to wear pj's.  She loves them when she is awake, but they will be off before morning.

**The black thing around her waist is her insulin pump and the white tube is her feeding machine.

Majority Rules

We live in a country where the majority rules!  Anyone shocked by this news?  Seriously, I am so sick of hearing celebrities on the news or hearing of protests in front of our sacred Temples.  Enough is enough.  The majority has spoken and no matter how much I whine, cry or complain nothing is going to change the fact that I have to live with Obama as a President.  Well same rule applies to prop's 8 & 102 - the majority has spoken and marriage is between a man and a woman.

I don't feel like I am being hateful or prejudice towards the gay community at all.  If they want to have a civil unions - go ahead.  If they want to share health care - go ahead.  If they want to file joint taxes - go ahead.  However, don't refer to your domestic partnership as a marriage, because it is not.  One of our purposes for being here on this earth is to "multiply and replenish."  This is not physically possible in a homosexual relationship.

I realize that the divorce rate proves that we straight people have issues of our own.  We, at least the ones I know, are not claiming to be perfect in any way, shape or form.  This is not a political issue.  This is a MORAL issue!!  Anyone recall the story of Sodom and Gomorrah?  As members of the church we are taught not to judge.  It is possible to love the sinner and hate the sin.  It is possible because WE ARE ALL SINNERS!!!  With that said, just because I love them does not mean I have to accept or condone their homosexual lifestyle.  Anyway, back to my main point - the majority rules.  I hope that during my lifetime the "majority" will stay within the boundaries that the Lord has set.

Sad, yet Proud American

I am so sad tonight.  I have literally shed tears over the fact that the President Elect of this great country believes in such horrible things like abortion and same-sex marriage.  I have literally felt like throwing up several times tonight.  As if it wasn't hard enough to raise kids to do the right things in life...our job has just become a lot harder.

With that said, I am still so grateful to live in this amazing Country!  I am thankful for the many men and women that put their lives on the line each and everyday to protect our freedoms.  We need to pray for them and pray REALLY hard for the new President.

Kids DO listen...sometimes

So last Sunday, Jay and I laid down to take a nap.  Savannah woke me up to ask if she could have a piece of bread.  She checked her own blood sugar and was able to eat the bread.  So Jay goes downstairs to correct her blood.  He finds that the girls had ripped the bread into small pieces of bread and were giving the Sacrament to each other.  We had a talk with them about how special the Sacrament is and why it is we only do it at church.  The cute part was that Shayde so politely reminded Savannah that she should only use her right hand.  At least she listens to something!
