Let me just start by saying -- I really don't care about HS Football anymore. It has been 12 years since I graduated. My brothers don't play anymore and I just don't care! With that said...Jay's family is from Thatcher and they call every time Thatcher and SJ play. Not to name names, but Mark and John Stevens constantly give me crap about how Thatcher is so much better than SJ. Yesterday I got to call Mark to let him know that SJ beat the school that took Thatcher's chance at State. Mark was a good sport --- "I was waiting for your call, Carol. I knew it was coming." He was funny. He was supportive of our win and only took one shot at SJ the whole time!! For those of you who don't know him -- one shot at SJ is a miracle! There is usually about 10. Good times!! At least for ONE year I get the honor of reminding Mark and John that SJ Redskins are one up on the Thatcher Eagles.

Family Pictures

We had our family pictures taken by a photographer out of Prescott. She is AMAZING. Here are some of the pictures she took.

We participated in the JDRF "Walk to Cure Diabetes" again this year. It was awesome! We had a lot of friends and family not only walk, but donate and raise money to help our precious little Savannah Belle. There was over 26,000 people there and the walk raised 2.2 MILLION DOLLARS! Jay and I can't thank you all enough for your love and support.

Attempt to Organize

In honor of my friend Amber -- here is my first attempt at organization. Amber is a organizational freak and apparently our friend Tia is even more organized than Amber. I can't even wrap my mind around that but I've just met Tia not to long ago - so I've never been to her house and Amber doesn't lie. Anyway, Tia told me about a website called I've been on her site and hopefully with the help of Amber, Tia and Flylady -- some day I WILL be organized. Until then - one freakin cupboard will have to do!

Let me start from the beginning...

About two years ago Jay went on another deer hunt (shocker) in Mexico. I was a little peeved about this hunt to say the least. So I took the twins and went with my cousin Korey and his family to a rodeo outside of Globe. While we were there they were selling these cute puppies. The girls wanted one so bad. So being as peeved as I was I thought, "I am going to teach Jay a lesson. He wants to spend money on another damned DEAD animal -- well I'm going to spend money on a live one." So after dropping one too many Benjamin's on a dog we were on our way home.

When Jay got home from his trip we introduced him to the newest member of our family, Lady. To my misfortune, he didn't even give a crap! Basically, I spent too much money on something that I had to feed, pick up her crap, replant grass from holes she dug, and spent another Ben on a dog collar to shut her up.

Thankfully, my great friend Janet had her brother take Lady to a rodeo and he gave her to a really nice family in Montana. She will be with a loving family who will be able to give her as much attention as needed.

I've learned a few things over the past two years: 1) I am not an animal person. 2) As much as I hate to admit it - I prefer them dead. 3) Lie to your children about where their dog went. I have had to deal with at least 20 minutes of flowing tears every day since Lady has been gone. And where is Jay you ask? On another damn hunt!

So much for sticking it to him. What is that saying, "Vengence is mine, saith the Lord." (I'll keep that in mind next time)

JDRF Walk to Cure Diabetes

Dear Friends and Family,

It’s time for the JDRF Walk to Cure Diabetes. Last year was a big success. It could not have happened without the continued prayers, love and support of you, our family and friends.

At 16 months old, Savannah was diagnosed with Juvenile (type 1) Diabetes. Savannah continues to be insulin-dependent until a cure is found. Over the last year, Savannah has tolerated 200 shots and 3000 finger pricks. In the four short years since her diagnosis Savannah has endured 11,500 finger pricks and 3,700 insulin injections. Savannah is an Angel and takes 99% of these shots without even crying. She is one tough cookie that continues to bless our family with her strength and resilience!

We continue to believe in and support the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation in their efforts to raise money to find a cure for Diabetes. Together we are making a difference in our children’s lives. We must do everything in our power to help find a cure for Savannah. It’s our goal to avoid the heart and kidney disease, blindness, amputation, and early death that is a reality for many people with juvenile diabetes. Finding a cure is completely attainable and within reach. We feel confident an answer will be available before she goes to high school.

The Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) is the #1 non-profit organization of diabetes research worldwide. One of JDRF’s largest fundraising events is the “Walk to Cure Diabetes.” This year our team, Savannah’s Angels, will be raising money for this cause. This year’s walk will be held on Saturday, November 3rd at Tempe Town Lake.

Here are three ways you can help make a difference for Savannah:

Our family is deeply grateful to you for helping us reach our goal of raising $5,000 this year.

Great White Hunter

This is Brandon's first deer! Great job Brandon! Uncle Jay and I are proud of you. Korey (Brandon's Dad) just called and gave us the story of his boy's first hunt. He had his whole family with him today for his hunt. Every time a shot was fired, his brother Preston was sitting in the truck with his fingers crossed on both hands. When Kayleen got the call that Brandon got the buck, they started to drive toward Korey and Brandon. Preston looks at his mom and says, "I'm so damn proud of my brother!" Ditto Preston.
We love you guys!

Proud Wife

I have to take a moment to brag on my cute hubby! It's not often so brace yourselves. My husband was very helpful around the house today. Helped clean, gave Savannah all her medicines and helped with yard work when his back was hurting. We sat down to watch both sessions of conference. A little after the last session Jay was looking for his shaver. He couldn't find it...hence the extremely hairy face. Anyway, he called me away from my new digital camera (side note...I bought a camera that is banned from taking any picture of wildlife) to iron his Sunday clothes. MY CUTE HUSBAND WENT TO PRIESTHOOD SESSION WITHOUT ANY PERSUADING! I COULDN'T BE PROUDER OF MY MAN!!!

Spice Girls

First, I need to apologize for the crappy quality of my picture. I had to take it with my cell phone due to hunting season. Evidently it is more important to take pictures of random animals than to capture precious pictures of your flesh and blood! Every hunting trip the digital camera disappears. When hunting season is over (if there is such a thing) nobody can seem to find the darned camera. Sick of hunting season? ...Anyone? ...Anyone?

Second, I have to tell you the reason for my title. Shayde got creative with the scissors during group at school and she "accidently cut her hair on purpose." Anyway, we went to our cousin Lacey's salon today and had the girls hair cut. Both of them got the A line hair style. Savannah is so excited that Shayde wanted her hair like hers -- she thinks she is so cool now. The cut looks so stinking cute on both of them. Anyway, Shayde looks so much like Posh Spice. She loves her new hair. I have caught her looking at herself in the mirror several times tonight. She is just enamored with her own beauty -- it cracks me up. Now on to our other Spice Girl ... Anyone who has ever spent a night with the Lopemans knows when Savannah wakes up her hair is a wild mess. So now she is our Scary Spice. They are too funny.

Hopefully when Jay gets back from his hunt we will be able to locate the camera and I will put a decent picture on here.

My awesome interior decorator friend Amber came for a girls weekend. Our husbands are getting ready to go on a hunt so we were able to literally spend all day Saturday doing whatever the heck we wanted. We did a lot of shopping, but even more window shopping. There was this awesome little shop in downtown Mesa. The shop will go unnamed to protect my stupidity...I mean their identity. They have amazing home decor stuff. However, this stuff is amazingly OVER PRICED!!! Perfect expample of just how over priced this boutique is -- a day bed at JC Penny is on sale for $129. The Boutique sells pretty much the exact same bed for over $4000. Needless to say this was definately a window shopping store. Amber saw this really cute toulle with sparkles and lined with brown ribbon. It was absolutely precious! Amber announces that she just has to have it for her daughter. Other random ladies were commenting on just how cute it was, etc. Amber about choked on her own saliva when she saw the price of a cute tu-tu was $77!!! Amber quietly set the tu-tu down and made a quick exit. She barely made the escape! Unfortunately, I was not so lucky. The sales lady was so sweet...talking to me about my children...kindergarten (which we all know by now that I am not a fan of it and could complain about it for hours)...the 5 love languages...parenting...and what I could do to help Shayde transition to her new class easier. One thing I could do was buy her a cute little bag of halloween candy for her to take to her teacher. Her new teacher would "ooo and ahhh" over her and that would help to make her feel special. Shayde should feel special...her mother is a RETARD! I totally fell for the sales pitch and here is a picture of a $6 bag of candy corn!
Amber and I figured out that this bag of candy was marked up a little over 1600%! All I can do is laugh! Could I possibly be any dumber? DON'T ANSWER THAT!

The Sweet Faces of LIARS!

I just wanted you all to take a look at the face of little FIBBERS! We were at Home Depot the other day to pick up salt for the water softner. The guy in front of us was taking so long -- he even made the rest of us wait in line while he ran out to his car for his wallet. Anyway the line continued to get longer and some guy started a conversation with the girls to help the time pass. He asked them if they were brothers. Shayde's response was, "No, our brother is in Heaven." Savannah wasted no time in adding, "Yeah, our brother died and he is in Heaven." You should have seen the look on all the peoples faces. I thought the poor cashier girl was about to shed some tears. I started to laugh and the people just gave me a wierd look-- I said I'm sorry, but that is not true! We only have the girls... they have never had a brother. Shayde stomped her foot and folded her arms very dramatically and said, "WELL, I WANT ONE!" It was funny, but very embarassing!

Kindergarten is OVER RATED!!!

OK! I know I am not the only person who has had a hard time with Kindergarten and I hate to admit it ... but Kindergarten is kicking my rear!!!

  • Getting 2 kids + self ready is dang near impossible without my hubby. (Savannah is anything but a morning person)

  • A million pieces of paperwork for Savannah's diabetes

  • Two solid weeks of lunch with 200 plus 5-7 year old kids is my version of hell!

Good thing there are teachers who love their job and love other peoples children. They have patience beyond my comprehension. I would've dropped kicked a kid into the middle of next week by now. One of them would have been my precious little Shayde. She has sure pushed the patience factor to the limit. The whole school thing is new to her and it doesn't help matters much that Savannah is getting so much attention due to her diabetes. She has done better the last couple of days, but the first 1 1/2 weeks was absolutely horrible. She was completely obnoxious. She broke all of her crayons, told the teacher she couldn't count and that she didn't know her ABC's! Are you kidding me? She has been able to count in spanish since she was 3 thanks to Aunt TeeTee, but she wouldn't do it for the teacher. I got my first cold sore...never in my 30+ years have I had a cold sore! Leave it to Shayde, Savannah and Kindergarten to bring it out! Things will get better. Let's pray Mom doesn't flunk Kindergarten! :)

First Day of Kindergarten

I can't believe that my babies started Kindergarten today! It just doesn't seem like they are that old! Jay and I were a little bit nervous this morning, but all in all it went OK. I cried a little when we left their classroom, but they were not sad to see us leave one bit. They were so excited and I know they will do just fine.
Ready to go to the bus stop! So CUTE!

I can't believe it -- my babies turned 5 today. Time has flown by. They start school two weeks from today. I remember making so much fun of my sister Amy when Jaimie went to school. Amy cried and cried. I thought -- what a freak -- you get a break from your kids and you're crying about it?!?! What I am the same way. Who's the freak now? I get all weepy just thinking about them going to school. I wish they would stay small forever -- until one of them throws a fit tomorrow and I will remember why school is a good thing.

Ok! I am obsessed with the movie Hairspray! I love it -- love it -- love it. I have been to see it 3 times already. Pathetic, I know -- but I don't care. I went the first time with my friends MaLeisa and Melissa. The second time I took my Mom, Megan and my girls. The third time I took all the girls in my department as a group. It was so fun. It is the perfect blend of Grease, Footloose and Dirty Dancing. If you have a chance -- go and see it. Let me know what you think. Savannah says her favorite part is "when he kissed the fat girl." It was so dang cute!

First Blog

My sister Tiffany is trying to teach me how to blog -- at this moment I am not sure how I feel about blogging. This is a picture of Savannah and Shayde sitting on the end of Aunt TeeTee's bed. I love this picture -- rat nasty hair, panties and all -- doesn't get much cuter.
